Making circular t-slot nuts
Circular t-slots need specially made nuts to fit them. One way of doing this is to cut a circular strip of metal. This can be done using a rotary table. This strip is then chopped into bit of a suitable length and each piece is drilled and tapped.

It is far more difficult than one might imagine to divide such a strip to mark for drilling holes and then to saw up. Also, in the process of dividing it up some material is lost so the number of nuts that can be made is less than one might have hoped for.
